Elder and Sister Collins, from Castries, received permission from President Robinson for us to hold our district meeting at a most spectacular waterfall setting that only Mother Nature can create. We met in Dennery, which is about half way between Castries and Vieux Fort, then another three or four miles off the main highway to the trail head. After a short hike, which included wading the river, we were at our venue. A beautiful waterfall/lagoon surrounded by lush tropical growth. The district leader's lesson included watching parts of two different DVD's and thanks to modern technology (and our lap top computer) we were able to view the DVD clips. We did have two couples (white tourists) wonder in to take a few pictures but it created no problem for us. A most unique district meeting. We have been spending time with the elders almost everyday. Most of their investigators right now are single mothers so they ask if we will go with them which we are more than happy to do. We drive to Laborie each Sunday night to have a family home evening with the William family, Evans and Betherlie, and their daughters, Evanella and Swansey. A month or so past Betherlie made it known that she has a table top sewing machine to which Sister Faux made known that she likes to sew. This resulted in us spending the better part of Saturday at their home as Sister Faux made a jacket for a dress that Swamsey wanted to wear to church on Sunday. When it was finished and as we were leaving we remarked, "We will see you in church tomorrow", to which Swansey replied, "Not tomorrow, I;m going to the Catholic Church". It seems she has been named as a god-mother for the daughter of an acquaintance and Sunday the baby was being christened so she needed/wanted to be there. So you just never know. All the while Sister Faux was sewing Elder Faux had found a shady spot for his lawn chair on the beach right near their home to read and relax and enjoy the cool ocean breeze. Hi, This is Siste Faux, I finally get my time to speak !! Can I just say that the church really is true--we learn that stronger every day. The Elders are such great teachers and we enjoy being with them and listening to their lessons. They answer each question the investigators ask. They do quite amaze us and makes us wish we knew the scriptures as they do. What a great force they present to the world. Many of those checking out the church are young unmarried , mothers and single girls. Life is hard for them and I know if they join the church and stay strong life can improve . Yesterday we had six investigators check out the church and each Sunday it is the same. The branch has a few problems occasionally but they are wonderful people and many of them are strong and faithful members. We enjoy being with them. Please note my shoes that is called hard work.We send our love. Please write to us. Elder and Sister Faux
